Amy Smith is an artist currently living and working in Richmond, VA. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at VCU School of the Arts, where she received the Peach Tree Merit Scholarship, and the Theresa Pollack Memorial Scholarship. She has participated in group shows at Glave Kocen Gallery, Gallery5, and has work in the Capital One collection in Richmond, VA. In 2018 she was chosen for the People’s Choice Award at the annual InLight show (juried by 1708 Gallery) on the grounds of the VMFA, and the following Spring, she was the Virginia Artist in residence at the Cite Internationale des Artes in Paris, France. She finds inspiration in nature, working on comic books, and spending time with animals.
