Matt Lively earned a BFA in Sculpture from VCU in 1993 and has exhibited nationally and internationally in numerous solo, juried and group exhibitions. He teaches at the Virginia Museum Studio School and the Virginia Commonwealth University, Lively is on the Board of 1708 Gallery, is a contributing founding member of Ink Tank Lab, and serves as Art Director of short films and Producer of the documentary “Death”. Matt Lively’s work is in collections in the U.S, Canada, Europe, Australia and China and is co-founder of the award winning collaborative environmental sculpture duo, Lively / Harper. Matt Lively was the 2012 recipient of the Theresa Pollak Prize for Excellence in the Arts.
